Gleaning : Gathering the Goodness

Open Floor Movement Practice workshop with Aileen Reid and Subhanaya

Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October 2026, Edinburgh

Gleaning is the act of walking the fields after harvest, gathering what remains — the overlooked grains, the fruit left on the trees, the good things missed the first time through.

In reading, the word gleaning is also used to describe gathering meaning from scattered lines of a text — noticing small insights that might otherwise be overlooked.

In this workshop we bring that spirit into movement - discovering what the dance reveals and gathering the goodness.

As the year turns towards its later season, we will take time to notice what is here — in the body, in our lives, and what can be gleaned from the months that have passed.

Through guided explorations and open dance, we will move with curiosity, gathering energy, insight, and simple pleasure in the dance.
