Subhanaya Dance is registered with the Information Commissioners Office in the UK, which supports compliance with UK GDPR (personal data protection) legislation. I am also a member of the ICMTA (International Conscious Movement Teachers Association) and abide by their ethical code of conduct.
I respect your privacy and am committed to the safe handling of personal information. This Privacy Policy informs you about how your information is collected, stored and used and what control you have with regard to the data held.
What personal data is collected and how is it used?
If you sign up to my email newsletters, your email address and name are held securely by Mailchimp. You can view Mailchimp’s privacy policy here. You can update your preferences or unsubscribe from Subhanaya Dance emails at any time.
For Glasgow in-person classes, I use Setmore which securely holds your email and name, you can view their privacy policy here.
To take bookings for other classes and workshops, I use Google Forms, again your data is held securely, see here.
The data collected by Subhanaya Dance includes:
Name
Phone number
Emergency contact
Any health related information relevant to your participation
I collect this information to communicate with you about the event you have booked. I ask for health related information in order to support you during the event. Your information may be shared confidentially with a co-teacher or assistant, again for the purpose of supporting you during the event.
What are my rights to access the information held?
At any time you can ask to see the information held about you and/or request that information is changed or deleted. I will provide you with a readable copy of the personal data, at no charge, within 30 calendar days of receiving a written request.
In order to prevent fraud and to ensure I am not disclosing your personal data to the wrong person, I may ask you for a copy of an official document that clearly authenticates your name, and current address. This is a standard practice in all applications for personal data under UK GDPR.
